Rebozo and Belly Binding Circle Sunshine Coast
Event description
Embark on a journey of learning within sacred Women's circle—immersing yourself in the art of connection, storytelling, and the transmission of ancient wisdom.
If you've been yearning to delve into the techniques of rebozo and belly binding for pregnancy, birth, and postpartum in a way that honours the lineages preserving this invaluable knowledge, this is your aligned opportunity.
I'm Sarah, a passionate midwife with a deep appreciation for traditional practices. Over the past decade, I've traversed the globe, learning from Wise Women Wisdom Holders worldwide, with a special focus on Latin America. Living in Guatemala, I directly absorbed the traditions of belly binding with a faja during pregnancy and postpartum. I've also trained with the renowned traditional Mexican midwife and rebozo guru, Naoli Viniver.
Drawing from years of working intimately with the female body and pregnant women, I've honed my ability to offer support for pregnancy and postnatal discomforts and alignment for women's bodies and babies for birth. This circle welcomes anyone supporting women throughout the reproductive continuum, in any setting, making this wisdom applicable even for women birthing in hospitals and with the use of epidurals, for those supporting women to birth at home and for women taking responsibility for their own care.
Our Flow:
- Open with sacred Maya cacao, cultivated and processed by my midwife teachers in Guatemala. Explore the uses of cacao in pregnancy and birth.
- Connect with the energy of authentic artisan-woven fajas and rebozos. Go beyond seeing them as simple cloth, feeling into the wisdom woven into these fabrics and understanding how to use them as an extension of your own hands.
- Learn essential information when assessing a woman's body and baby's position. Learn to work intentionally, know what you're doing and Why you're doing it.
- Equip yourself with tools for pregnancy and birth to optimally position a baby, alleviate discomfort, and promote postpartum healing through the use of a rebozo and faja.
- Closing circle.
- Opportunity to purchase womb healing plant products, authentic rebozos, and fajas handwoven by artisans in Mexico and Guatemala.
- Enjoy a shared lunch. Cacao, teas, and morning treats provided.

Excitingly, our circle will be held in a Yurt, creating a transformative portal on the lands of the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara people. Verrierdale on the Sunshine Coast, nestled between Eumundi and Noosa.
