RECIPES WE CARRY: A LEBANESE COOKING WORKSHOP
Description
Some of the strongest threads between generations are woven around a table - through food, stories, and the simple act of making something together.
We’re inviting you to do just that.
Come gather around the communal table for a hands-on afternoon of Lebanese cooking, storytelling and connection with mother-daughter duo Siham & Justine from Dayaa School & Kitchen, in collaboration with Good Flock.
Together, we’ll make Warak Enab from scratch, following a cherished village recipe. We’ll prepare tender grape vine leaves, make a fragrant rice filling with tomato, parsley and homemade seven spice, then roll each one by hand.
As we cook, Siham and Justine will share their knowledge, tips and stories - stories of family, food, culture and home, and the traditions they carry from one generation to the next. A reminder that recipes are love letters to our ancestors. They hold the hands that taught us, the people and stories behind them, the memories of where we come from, and the many meals shared before us.
We’ll finish seated around the table for lunch, conversation and a little reflection:
What do we carry with us?
What can we learn from those who came before?
And what might we pass on?
No cooking experience is needed. Whether you’re new to Lebanese cooking or already love to cook, come hungry and curious. You’ll leave with new skills, a full belly, a warmed heart, and your own Warak Enab to take home and share.
A traditional Warak Enab stone will also be available to purchase, so you can keep rolling at home.
We can’t wait to gather, cook and share stories with you.

About Dayaa School & Kitchen
Dayaa School & Kitchen - founded by Justine and her mother, Siham (Sahtein Lebanese Feasts) - is a cooking school devoted to reviving ancestral Lebanese recipes that are being lost with displacement. “Dayaa” means “village” in Arabic, and through these classes, Siham and Justine weave history, hands-on learning and the joy of gathering.
About Good Flock

Dietaries + Accessibility
Please note: Warak Enab is vegan and gluten free, and includes rice. The lunch will also be vegan and gluten free. If you have any questions about ingredients or dietary requirements, please feel free to contact us prior to booking to discuss: hello@goodflock.org
We always try to make sure everyone feels welcome. However, as this cooking workshop will be held at the family home, accessibility may be limited. There are 7 steps going up to the house, and 1 step from the inside to the backyard where the workshop will be held. We do apologise for this. If this will be an issue for you, please do reach out at hello@goodflock.org and we can see what’s possible.
