Event description

I invite you into a space for fun, play and all things a little bit silly! 🌈💚💕

Some of us have received messages to sit still, be quiet and be small which squashed our desire & sometimes ability to play. Some of us have internalised that we aren’t fun and don’t know how to play. Some of us have learnt that adulthood is not meant to be fun & playful.

Whatever those messages are & however they show up for you, I invite you into a space to connect with them, to see them and decide what you want to hold onto and what you want to let go.

This workshop is a chance to explore what it means to have fun & play. To explore the delight in this & the discomfort of this. This will be an exploration of the light, dancing playful parts of ourselves and the parts & the messages that stop us from freely expressing ourselves.

✨Maybe you learnt you weren’t fun.

✨Maybe you learnt that you others had better ideas than you.

✨Maybe you took on an idea that you were boring.

✨Maybe you learnt it was ‘sensible’ to sit still and focus.

✨Maybe you learnt that when you let your true self out you were teased.

✨Maybe you got into trouble for being loud.

✨Maybe you learnt that when you grow up you’re meant to work hard and it’s not meant to be fun.

And maybe despite all of this there’s a desire however tiny or gigantic that wants to be free to play, to express, to live in joy and knows that all those things you learnt were rubbish (or not truly serving you)

We will dance (literally and metaphorically) in the exploration of fun & play. The joy of it & the vulnerability of it.

The workshop will consist of playful processes designed to  invoke joy, creativity & humour. There will also be some processes where we will gently delve into ourselves and connect with the parts of us that may have been hidden.  We will move our bodies, use our voice, use various forms of creative expression, and explore our inner dialogue, all to explore & ponder - what does fun mean to me? How do I see myself when it comes to fun & play? Why did I stop being silly? & Why did I stop playing?  & How might I be if I allowed these to be part of me and the way I live my life?

Throughout the process you will be held gently and securely by me (Kim). I have gone on my own journey of reclaiming silliness & play and continue to learn, grow and discover in this space.

As we journey through reclaiming our silliness, we may discover a range of feelings associated with fun & play. Some of these may be enjoyable and some of these may bring discomfort. I invite you to witness these feelings and you will be held as you do.
