Do you know a prickly pear from a boxing glove? Join this hands-on workshop to learn how to identify and control Opuntioid cacti commonly found in Western NSW.
Event details:
Hosted by Western Local Land Services, this practical session will help you tell the difference between common opuntioids like prickly pears so you can manage them effectively.
This workshop is designed for land managers and individuals working in natural resource management who require knowledge of Opuntioids, or those interested in learning more about the identification and management of Opuntioids.
It’s practical, useful, and designed to help you make smarter decisions in the field.
Come along to learn:
how to spot and identify cacti
legislative and control requirements
correct disposal of Opuntioids
how to prepare specimens to send to the herbarium
available biological control agents, and the right tools and methods for each type
practical applications and tips you can use directly on your land
how to protect your property and local environment.
