Reconciliation & The Federal Election
Event description
The Federal Elections represent a crucial opportunity to shape the future of our nation, its values, and priorities. At a time when divisive voices are growing louder, it’s more important than ever to come together and discuss ways to support one another. This is especially significant for those who support First Nations people and how we envision Australia’s future.
After many years of journeying alongside First Nations peoples, it is clear that reconciliation is about the voice, truth, treaty, self-determination, justice reinvestment, and closing the gap. However, there are growing concerns that these efforts are under threat.
Supporting parties and independents who advocate for reconciliation will be crucial in this election.
This webinar features two speakers with extensive experience and knowledge on these issues.
ANTaR will provide resources to support individuals and groups in exploring how your local group, community organisation, or church can run an event or participate in local candidate forums, asking questions about their commitment to First Nations peoples' rights and reconciliation.
