Reconciliation in Education - information session
Event description
This webinar outlines Reconciliation Tasmania's Reconciliation in Education services.
Our Reconciliation in Education program is a partnership with Reconciliation Australia. This program is available to all schools and early learning services, whether public, private, or not-for-profit. It aims to foster a high level of knowledge and pride in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and contributions.
In this information session, we will:
introduce you to the Professional Development and Curriculum resources available free of charge on the Narragunnawali - Reconciliation in Education web platform
tell you about our annual Youth Speak Out art competition - free entry for all students in years 5-12
outline how your school or early learning service can develop a Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) for strengthening relationships, respect and opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people - in the classroom, around the school / centre and with your community
tell you about services that Reconciliation Tasmania provides to support schools and early learning services on your reconciliation journey.
The webinar will include time for questions and answers.
Reconciliation Tasmania honours the memory of the Muwinina people on whose lands we work, and who did not survive invasion and colonisation. We pay our respects to the Tasmanian Aboriginal people and to their Elders who continue to care for this Country, as their Ancestors have done for thousands of generations.
