In conversation with Aunty Judith Rose Thomas:Â
Aunty Judith Rose Thomas is one of Tasmania’s most well-known and respected Aboriginal artists. A direct descendant of Manalargenna – from the Cape Portland (also known as Ben Lomond) tribe belonging to the lettermarriner people. She has spent most of her life in Launceston, where she continues to live, draw inspiration, and create her artwork. Aunty Judith Rose won the City of Launceston’s Citizen Award earlier this year for dedicating over three decades to educating, mentoring and sharing her knowledge.
