Event description
Hear about rural communities who are building a new future from within
Discover how knowledge, know-how and networks can unlock localised innovation opportunities that are community-led and self-reliant.
Identify ways to use entrepreneurship to build on work undertaken by local Innovation Working Groups.
An invitation to (re)connect + learn
Join a thought-provoking and practical workshop with members of past leadership programs and others in your community who are interested in developing initiatives that address a problem or create an opportunity.
Led by the Australian Centre for Rural Enterpreneurship and co-hosted by Upper Murray Inc, this workshop will explore different models of rural entrepreneurship, and identify essential foundations needed to bring a community-led initiative to life or take an existing initiative to a new level.
Thanks to funding support from Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) there is no cost to attend. Refreshments and a light lunch will be provided.
Background
This workshop is part of ‘Lead a new future for your community’ - a program designed by ACRE to support economic diversification planning in communities affected by Victoria’s transition away from native timber harvesting in State forests.
ACRE is offering a tailored program of learning and development opportunities and mentoring to support five priority communities with Local Development Strategies: Benalla, Corryong, Koondrook, Murrindindi, and Upper Yarra Ranges.
'Lead a new future your community' is designed to connect and support emerging leaders, building on and activating strategies developed by innovation working groups across northern Victoria.
