Community Gathering Series: Uniting Australians for a Cause
Every life journey has its unique challenges. Whether you were born that way, develop a medical condition, have an accident, or find yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time, life happens. Whatever challenges you are facing, hearing how others have managed and finding strength in the community, can make a huge difference.
At the heart of the Reconnect the Disconnect series; is helping you discover your inner strength and harnessing the deep resilience within families, which is fuelled by love.
Let's get together as one community and become part of the solution!
A 5-Part Series of Meaningful Gatherings
Each event is hosted by stroke survivor Barnaby Howarth and a special guest with the lived experience of either: coping with cancer; living with a disability; kicking drug addiction; dealing with diabetes; or being a foster family.
They are built on the concept of mateship, sharing a meal, creating good vibes, and having a go. And are about just bringing people together to help each other out.
Give It a Crack
Towards the end of the gathering, we present "Give it a Crack" – an opportunity for brave people to get out of their comfort zone and showcase their talents in a live setting. Whether it's karaoke, slam poetry, or a burst of stand-up comedy, all are encouraged to seize the moment and give it a crack. Following the formalities, everybody will come together and have an old-fashioned chat over a meal or a drink.
