Menopause: Supporting a Smooth Transition with Herbal Medicine
Perimenopause can be a challenging time for many women with potentially a myriad of symptoms appearing as they approach menopause.
Regina has over two decades of experience supporting women and easing the symptoms encountered through a stage of life that can be distressing for many women.
During this presentation she will:
- review the herbal medicines used to effectively ease the various symptoms that can be encountered by women
- share case studies to demonstrate how these herbal medicines are used to provide relief and improve quality of life.
- consider the differences in the understanding and treatments used in modern medicine and herbal medicine in the care of women during this transition.
- discuss the role that practitioners of herbal and naturopathic medicine have in assisting these women in the maintenance of not only optimal physical and emotional health, but vitality and a positive attitude through the menopausal transition and beyond.
Presenter:Â Regina Lasaitis
Regina Lasaitis is a masters qualified Medical Herbalist and Naturopath with over 25 years' experience. Prior to her training in complementary medicine, Regina was a biomedical scientist, and she combines her medical and scientific knowledge with her skills in naturopathy. She has a clinical practice in Sydney where she provides treatment and management of all health issues. With her passion for educating and training future practitioners in the field of complementary medicine, Regina has over 10 years’ experience as an educator of Western herbal medicine and naturopathy. She is currently a lecturer and student clinic supervisor at Torrens University. Regina offers mentoring and a support service for newly graduated practitioners.
