Naturopathic Support for Miscarriage
Miscarriage is the most common complication of early pregnancy and this webinar will discuss the spectrum of miscarriage from implantation failure to late or 2nd trimester losses, through to recurrent miscarriage risks. It is currently estimated that approximately 12-15% of all pregnancies will result in miscarriage and a history of miscarriage unfortunately remains a risk for further pregnancy losses.
Whilst miscarriage remains a very common outcome of pregnancy, each loss justifies extensive evaluation and offers an opportunity for the clinician’s deeper understanding of potential biochemical miscarriage mechanisms and can provide powerful cues for focussed naturopathic and nutritional interventions.
Aetiologies associated with miscarriage commonly echo aetiologies associated with subfertility and research confirms that there is a higher rate of pregnancy loss amongst couples with a history of subfertility or undergoing IVF. In this webinar Amanda will explore these causative factors which include autoimmunity, sperm factor issues, nutritional deficiencies, genetic/chromosomal influences, inherited and acquired thrombophilias, infections, maternal and paternal age, anatomical abnormalities, hormonal and lifestyle factors.
When the cause of miscarriage is thoroughly investigated it can provide context often for multifactorial causes and key information for both diagnosis and treatment considerations for a personalised and integrated treatment approach where Naturopathic and Nutritional medicine can have a profound influence on the outcome of future pregnancies for couples experiencing the heartbreak of pregnancy loss.
