Science has made great progress in exploring why some people develop persistent pain problems over the last 10 years. The biomedical (e.g. Xray & MRI changes), patho- anatomical (e.g. subluxations, postural / alignment) and other “tissue”  based explanations of the past have been found to be insufficient. Pain is now considered a bio-psycho-social problem with many factors driving the experience. In Part 1 we will be looking at the latest findings in research which stem from movement changes, neuro inflammation involving gliopathies and nervous system changes and how the therapist can recognise and incorporate this latest science into their work.

Dermoneuromodulating (DNM) is a pain science informed form of manual therapy developed by pain expert Diane Jacobs a Canadian physiotherapist. Although rooted in complicated pain science, the techniques are gentle and easily performed. Video case studies will be presented. Electrotherapy has  advanced and videos of research informed electrotherapy will also be highlighted in this talk. This 2-part webinar aims to bring the latest information in an easily digestible form to therapists managing complex persistent pain patients.

Note: This webinar series is for experienced practitioners and those holding Diploma of Remedial Massage as a minimum.
