The Psychological and Physical Meaning of Pain

Stabbing pain, distended pain, heavy pain, dull pain, cold pain all mean different things. They are brought on by different lifestyle choices and are associated with different emotions. Knowing the cause helps with determining what changes the client can target in their life to help deal with the pain.

Chronic pain generally reflects poor posture, which results from the client’s predominant movement patterns. These patterns are driven by their nervous system: the motor pathways are affected by many factors, including organ health, stress and emotions. Putting it simply, posture reflects how the client is living their life.

In this webinar we look to analyse pain using both its location and its type to diagnose its cause using Chinese Medicine principles. We then apply David Corby’s mind body medicine insights to discuss the lifestyle choices and psychology that underline each type of pain.

David Corby is the founder of the College of Complementary Medicine, author of the Diploma of Mind Body Medicine and numerous other courses, internationally renowned teacher, acupuncturist, kinesiologist, and mind body medicine practitioner.

No prior knowledge is assumed, the course would potentially be useful for any practitioner that treats pain.
