Please note: There are 3 tours to the Red Hill Waste Management Facility this year, each on different dates, departing from different locations. We recommend that you review the specific details of this event carefully to ensure you are booking your preferred tour. This is the second of the three tours for the year and is for residents in the City of Swan. (The first tour was held in March 2024 and was for residents in the City of Bayswater and Town of Bassendean). The remaining tour date for the year will be for residents in the Shire of Mundaring and will be published on our Humanitix homepage in due course, so please follow our Humanitix homepage for future updates.

About this tour:

This is a guided tour of an active landfill and waste diversion facility. The tour provides an informative behind-the-scenes look at EMRC's waste diversion programs, the tip face and Food Organics Garden Organics (FOGO) recovery. After the site tour, participants are invited to visit Red Hill's Environmental Education Centre for a light morning tea and a look at our waste education activities.

Minimum age requirement and adult supervision:

The minimum age requirement for children is 6 years of age - They must be registered for their own ticket and be accompanied by a supervising adult. Children under the age of 6 years old are not permitted.

Tour logistics, footwear requirements and environmental conditions:

This free bus tour is for residents in the City of Swan, and the bus will depart from a designated location within the City of Swan (Swan Active Beechboro, 332 Benara Road, Beechboro). Residents from the Shire of Mundaring, City of Bayswater, the Town of Bassendean are also welcome to register to attend and places are limited. All attendees are required to make their own way to the bus departure location- please plan your journey in advance to allow time to check in and board the bus, as the tour bus will depart at 9:30am sharp. The tour guide will be wearing a hi-visibility vest and will wait outside the charter bus to check guests in before they board. After the tour, the bus will drop participants back at Swan Active Beechboro by 12:00pm.

All attendees, including children (aged 6+ years old) must be registered for a ticket in advance via Humanitix to board the bus on the day. After the tour, the bus will drop off participants at the same designated location within the City of Swan (Swan Active Beechboro, 332 Benara Road, Beechboro), by 12:00pm.



Reminder emails, including the departure location and address, what to bring, and what to wear will be sent to registered participants via email in the lead up to the tour (please ensure you check your email inbox and/or junk folder in case our emails are filtered out on your end).
