Red Tent New Moon Women's Circle October 2021
Event description
~ Each new moon we gather together in sacred circle to share the journey of womanhood, a place where we truly listen to our sisters and have the opportunity to be deeply heard as well. We share our moon cycle and life cycle experiences and stories (sharing as much or a little as you are comfortable with). The full spectrum of who we are is invited to show up . If you’ve never joined us before don’t let that keep you away! There are always a few women attending for the first time.
~ This month our special guest for the second half of our circle is Shekhinah.
~ Shekhinah has been dancing and teaching belly dance since the late 1980’s. She has developed a form of belly dance which, grounded in Egyptian dance tradition, brings each woman to an empowering relationship with the uniqueness of her body. Her focus is on encouraging women to dance for their own pleasure and self expression and to create context within women’s circles for sharing this with each other. This grounded, sensual dance enhances our health and wellbeing and encourages us to find the pleasure and ignite the passion in our beings . This workshop is an introduction to the principles of the dance. Shekhinah will teach some basic moves and we’ll get into the bellydance groove.
~ IMPORTANT If public health orders require it, masks will be required for the
belly dancing, indoors. If the weather is co-operative, we plan to hold the second part of our circle outside, so that masks are optional.
~ Women of all ages and stages of life are welcomed. Please note this is a child free event. Please bring water, a scarf or coin belt for your hips (if you intend to dance), a cushion/chair, sheepskin, or whatever you need for your comfort. Refreshments will be offered.
