Sizzle Surgery: Climate Week Debrief
Event description
Did you get the media quotes you wanted from UN Climate Week? If not, why? Most people come out of Climate Week sounding exactly like everyone else. Abstract. Doom ridden. Out of touch with ordinary people’s daily concerns.
To speed up the transition, you need quotes that set you apart, shift the narrative and don’t reinforce negative media tropes.
This means finding the right language to articulate the moment we’re in: a fundamental socio-economic transition whose potential benefits for ordinary people may have more traction than messages about the planet. i.e. how do we move from talking about loss to gain?
It also means learning how to sizzle i.e. create quotes that make journalists’ ears prick up and start to shift the needle on how we talk to people about the economy, their jobs and the environment.
In this Sizzle Surgery, I’ll help you work on new techniques for being more quotable ahead of COP 30 (and beyond).
This isn't a webinar where you pretend to pay attention while scrolling LinkedIn. It’s a practical workshop where you bring your real messages and I'll help you turn them into quotes that journalists actually want to use.
What you'll get:
Live workshopping of your quotes and soundbites
Techniques to make your net zero talk genuinely quotable
How to stand out when everyone else sounds like a corporate sustainability bot
Real examples of what worked (and what bombed) during Climate Week
Who should come: Climate campaigners, clean tech entrepreneurs, policy leaders i.e. anyone who knows they need to punch above their weight and tell better stories to speed up the transition and help people see the benefits.
