Redcliffe for *65+ OzHarvest Nutrition Education and Skills Training (NEST) program
Description
Learn to cook easy and health recipes, save money on your food budget, store food safely, understand food labels, plan meals and reduce waste by participating Nutrition Education and Skills Training (NEST) 6-week block program.
NEST team in Redcliffe will be running a free 6-week block program at our OzHarvest kitchen, and we want YOU to be a part of it!
Led by their friendly Dietitians & Nutritionist you’ll learn how to cook easy, tasty and affordable meals as well as build on your food and nutrition knowledge and meet new friends in 6 fun, hands-on 2.5-hour group sessions.
At NEST, you'll learn:
- New cooking tips and tricks
- How to understand food labels
- How to save money on your food budget
- How to plan meals to reduce food waste
- How to store food safely
This free 6-Block program will be running from Wednesday 23 September from 10:00am to 12:30pm ending Wednesday 28 October 2026.
At the completion of the program, you'll receive a certificate, take-home resources and your own copy of the OzHarvest Everyday Cookbook!
*By registering for this NEST program, you will be signed up to all 6 sessions. Please ensure you are available to attend all 6 sessions.
Time: 10am - 12:30pm
Cost: Free
This program is tailored for people *65+ (*65+ for general population, Cultural and Lingustic Diverse background, older women, and LGBTIQ groups. 50+ for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander population and 55+ for people experiencing homelessness) Bookings are essential and will be capped at 15 people.
Please note: a follow-up call will be made to collect dietary requirements and any other specific needs.
