Clothing Donation Drive Volunteers | Uber x Australian Red Cross

Australian Red Cross and Uber are running a nationwide donation drive to collect quality pre-loved clothing for resale in Red Cross shops. AusLeap is coordinating a group of UTS student volunteers across three Sydney locations.

Funds raised through Red Cross shops support people facing vulnerability, disaster and crisis in Australia and overseas. Last year's drive collected more than 125,000 kg of clothing.

What you will be doing

Removing donation bags and boxes from cars, loading them onto trucks or into shipping containers on site, and directing traffic. Morning shifts help with set up, later shifts help with pack down. No experience needed, training is provided on the day.

Where and when

Saturday 17 October 2026.

• Chatswood, St Paul's Anglican Church, 1 View St. Shifts 9:30am to 1:30pm, or 1:00pm to 5:00pm.

• Greenacre, TAXIBOX, Roberts Distribution Centre, Unit 7B, 81/85 Roberts Rd. Shifts 9:30am to 1:00pm, 12:30pm to 3:30pm, or 3:00pm to 6:30pm.

Pick your location and shift when you register.

Before you sign up

You need to be 16 or over, and fit enough to lift and carry bags and boxes of clothing for the length of your shift. This is an outdoor event and it is physical work.

What to bring

Closed-in comfortable shoes. Clothing you do not mind getting dirty. A reusable water bottle. Sun protection, and rain gear if the forecast calls for it. Snacks if you have specific dietary needs. Red Cross provides masks and gloves, but bring your own if you prefer.
