Event description

About the Performance
Theatre Redlands will present a double-header as the 2025 Australia Day presentation at Redland Museum, both distinctly Queensland but vastly different in style and content and each directed by a Theatre Redlands co-founder.

The Eulogy, written by John Cundill and directed by Raymond Noonan, starts as a family drama in which Russell, having written a eulogy for his terminally ill mother, brings it to her for her approval. Unexpectedly, she takes on the role of editor and proof reader, their differences rapidly develop into disclosing some home truths and the domestic becomes the political – just when we thought the Fitzgerald Enquiry was tucked away safely in the history drawer …

Training Wheels, directed by Jan Nary and adapted by her from Lillian M. Pyke’s Camp Kiddies, follows the life of a suburban Melbourne family transplanted to a railway construction camp in remote north Queensland.  Adapted as a radio play performed live, the production features railway songs by Australian singer/songwriter John Warner.
