Disaster equity: a gendered perspective

RedR Australia: Conversations for International Women’s Day

The UN Women theme, ‘March Forward’ commemorates 30 years since the UN’s Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action for achieving gender equality.

Since then, women have broken barriers, reshaped policies, and ignited powerful movements worldwide. However, millions of women and girls still face systemic inequalities, rising violence, and economic disparities that hold them back from being safe and reaching their full potential.

The International Women’s Day theme this year is clearly advocating to further the equality movement, calling for action to help reduce barriers and create more equal opportunities for women and girls.

In honour of International Women’s Day we are joined by our all-female panel of RedR Australia associate trainers and humanitarian deployees to discuss some of their experiences in the field and share some of what they have learned. We will chat for about 30 minutes and invite you to ask questions in the chat and we can cover them in the end. Welcome Georgina Galbraith, Hannah Jay  and Jess Letch, facilitated by Sally Cunningham from RedR Australia.

All ticket purchases will go towards a donation to RedR Australia for our humanitarian deployments and training projects.
