Give unwanted items a second life and pick up something useful for free.  

• Did you know that the average residential university student produces 44 kilograms of household waste each year?

• Did you know students waste up to $500 by throwing away functional residential items?

This waste consists of everyday household items, which get thrown into landfill at the end of the year.

This is a student-led intiative supported by the Bathurst Campus Environment Work Group- offering a more thoughtful way to dispose of unwanted household items

How it works

Donate

From September 21-25 drop off any unwanted residential item at the Library.

Accepted items include:

• Clothing

• Bedding and linen

• Crockery and kitchenware

• Cookware

• Stationery

• Small household items

• Other useful items that could help students live on campus throughout the year

Browse & Take

From September 29 to October 1, you’ll have access to everyone’s donations!

All donations will be on tables in the library foyer to be taken free of charge.

Clothes will be washed and acceptable electrical appliances will be tested and tagged.

You can donate, take, or donate and take; this is a circular economy event, designed to open new pathways for the reuse of resources, minimising waste and saving money.

The event is open to both staff and students to donate and take.
