Event description

The 30th anniversary of the Bachelor of International Studies (BIS) at UTS marks a significant milestone in the history of a program dedicated to fostering intercultural understanding and global citizenship.

Over the past three decades, the BIS has empowered thousands of students through In-Country Study (ICS) experiences, enabling them to spend up to a year at partner universities worldwide, where they can enhance their language skills and immerse themselves in different cultures. The BIS has continued to evolve and now offers students various pathways, including opportunities for internships and an International Honours program, providing students with practical experience and a professional edge.

As we celebrate 30 years of the Bachelor of International Studies, we reflect on the journey of our students who have embraced the opportunity to learn and grow in a global context. These experiences have shaped them into professionals with multilingual and intercultural competencies, ready to contribute to a more inclusive and interconnected world.

Using the International Studies program at UTS as a framework, join us for this panel discussion which will explore how nurturing global citizenship empowers individuals to engage with diverse perspectives and fosters a commitment to intercultural understanding and collaboration across cultural and national boundaries.
