Reflecting on self-care in emergencies and disasters
Event description
People working in stressful environments such as response and recovery in crises often carry a high workload, work in stressful situations, and may themselves be part of the community living through a crisis, emergency, or disaster. Looking after one-self is not an indulgence but a necessary part of working in the response and recovery environment.
Led led by Dr. Maureen Mooney, this 1.5 hour session will look at:
- Examining what we know about self-care and why we don’t always put it into practice
- Planning for and putting into action our self-care.
