Reflective Practice & Self Awareness
Event description
The Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence and Women’s Health and Wellbeing workforces provide a diverse range of programs across multi-layered and complex contexts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of women, children, men, gender diverse peoples, and families and communities.
Working in this space requires commitment, drive and a responsibility to the needs of the work we do and to the needs of ourselves and our colleagues. A reflective and self-aware approach is critical to managing the impacts of vicarious trauma and to enabling growth and resilience.
This brief workshop will explore what it means to engage in self-awareness and reflective practice and explore practical ways that we can embed this into our work using the Workforce Capability Framework.
Participants in this workshop will explore:
- What is reflective practice?
- Why is reflective practice important?
- Reflective practice models.
- Practical ways to grow self-awareness in your work.
- Tips for using the Workforce Capability Framework as a tool for reflective practice.
