    Event description

Professional supervision has been found to improve client outcomes, employee wellbeing, staff Professional critical thinking and problem solving, communication, team work, continuous improvement and quality practice. To gain these benefits it needs some level of structure balanced with creating a safe space for people to reflect and learn.

Join us for a two-hour training session on reflective professional supervision! Learn a structured model you can use in your one-on-one or group supervision sessions. Practice with your peers applying the model across key stages designed to help employees process their work experience. All participants will be provided with some resources to help apply the model back in their workplace.

This interactive workshop will focus on the importance of bringing the principles of reflective practice into supervision in the context of aged care. The workshop will explore: the fundamental goals of supervision and how to achieve these while safeguarding client care; creating an environment where reflective practice can take place; and how reflective practice contributes to high quality care, continuous improvement and building psychological safety and wellbeing.

    What is reflective practice?
Reflective practice is a cycle of reflecting on an area of practice, thinking critically about alternative perspectives and looking to improve quality care delivery based on new understandings. It helps to engage in continuous learning and to gain insight into yourself or your work. There is growing evidence of the importance of reflective practice to support mental health and wellbeing, to explore emotional challenges and cope with escalating pressures.
