The Department of Health is holding a series of webinars to share information about the Aged Care reforms announced in the 2021-22 Budget and in response to the Aged Care Royal Commission.

These webinars are an opportunity for anyone who uses or needs Aged Care, who works in Aged Care or who has an interest in improving Aged Care in Australia to learn more about the reforms.

Webinars will include presentations from the Hon Greg Hunt MP, Minister for Health and Aged Care, and Senator the Hon Richard Colbeck, Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services, as well as presentations and panel discussions by senior officials from the Department of Health.

Reforms in Home Care

Our webinar about reforms in Home Care

will outline how we intend to better help senior Australians to remain independent and in control, living at home and connected to their community.  This will include our plans for establishing a single support at home program to replace the Commonwealth Home Support Programme, Home Care Packages, Short Term Restorative Care, and Residential Respite.

This webinar will be particularly relevant for aged care workers and providers who deliver home care services to senior Australians.

Find out how the Government’s $7.5 billion will support more senior Australians to receive care at home, increase support for informal and family carers and make sure senior Australians are able to find the aged care services in their community they need.

We’ll also cover the response to the Royal Commission to increase quality and safety for at home care and to make sure that home care services offer value for money, are affordable and that pricing is transparent.

We’ll also ask you questions about what you think is important when implementing changes in home care settings and how we can best work with home care providers and carers to make these changes.
