Refresher courses are available for individuals that have completed their Mental Health First Aid course followed by the completion of an accreditation assessment within the last 3 years.

These courses enable accredited Mental Health First Aiders™ to revise their knowledge and skills and upon completion of your Refresher Course and passing the final assessment you will be accredited for a further 3 years (one time only).

The Standard Mental Health First Aid Refresher Course gives participants an opportunity to refresh the knowledge and skills learnt during the 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid Course. You will:

• Gain an understanding of the latest research in the mental health field
• Learn the 3 key actions for helping someone feeling suicidal
• Work through complex mental health first aid interactions
• Practice mental health first aid skills.

Online Delivery:

One 5-hour session to be delivered online via Zoom by a Licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor.  Upon completion of your Refresher Course, and passing the final assessment you will be accredited for a further 3 years (one time only).

Please note: If it's been over 3 years since you obtained accreditation, or 3 years after completing a Refresher Course, MHFAiders will need to attend a full 12 or 14-hour MHFA course in order to maintain their accreditation.

Course Fee:
$150 per person plus GST and booking fee (not including new manual)

Additional $30.50 (incl GST) for latest 4th edition of the Mental Health First Aid manual (includes postage).Participants are required to have the latest edition of the manual to comply with delivery requirements.

Eligibility:

• Previous completion of full 12-hr standard Mental Health First Aid course and existing accreditation, within the last 3 years.
  • If over 3 years, or if you last completed a Refresher course, you must sit the full standard 12-hr course again to obtain new accreditation.
• Access to existing Mental Health First Aid account dashboard (My Account | Mental Health First Aid (mhfa.com.au))
  • If you don't have your login, contact Mental Health First Aid Australia directly via email to mhfa@mhfa.com.au or call 03 9079 0200 to try to restore access.
• Latest 4th Edition of Mental Health First Aid manual (if not, additional $30.50 incl GST to order hard copy manual with postage).
  

Re-sitting Fee:
Due to the limited capacity, if you missed your booking, you must pay the full fee to book into another course. If by missing your initial booking, your existing accreditation expires before you manage to sit a Refresher course, you are then required to sit the full 12-hour course again. 

IMPORTANT (please read carefully before booking):

• Please book using the same email that is linked to your existing Mental Health First Aid account.
• It is the responsibility of the participant to ensure they are eligible to attend the Refresher course before finalising booking and payment. If you realise after attending the Refresher that you were supposed to attend a full course, we will not issue a refund/transfer of credit to attend another full course.
• After your booking has been finalised, you will be contacted via email with further instructions.
• Please ensure you have a computer/laptop with a working webcam for the Zoom session. Joining with mobile as video is strictly not permitted.
• Full fee required to rebook if you miss your booking, as numbers are limited and you have taken a booking.
• Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
