    Event description

This year’s theme for Refugee Week is Finding Freedom with a focus on families. The Transcultural Mental Health Centre (TMHC) invites mental health service providers across NSW to a facilitated session exploring how we as mental health professionals and service providers can support families not just to survive but thrive.

The webinar will include a panel of professionals that work across a variety of services and organisations. They will provide insight into the research, services and resources aimed at supporting individuals with refugee experiences. The panel includes:

    • Sandy Eagar, Nurse Manager, Refugee Health Services
    • Associate Professor Shameran Slewa-Younan, School of Medicine, Western Sydney University
    • Mona Norouzi, Child and Family Counsellor, Child and Family Health, Western Sydney Local Health District (WSLHD)
    • Rachel Hennessy, Refugee Student Education Advisor, Multicultural Education, NSW Department of Education
    • Amanda Mason, Bilingual Clinical Consultant - Child Youth Family Consultant, TMHC

Upon registration, there will be an opportunity to submit questions, you wish the panel to address in relation to how we can help families to thrive.
