Event description

Join us next Wednesday 16th November in Tikorangi, 10:30am to 1:30pm with our farm hosts Brooke & Matt Laurence - recently featured in the October issue of Fonterra's 'Enrich' magazine

As the end of year and Summer approaches, we invite you to come and hear from local farmers on a regenerative journey. We'll learn what's working for them to improve the health, resilience and prosperity of their farm system, lessons learnt and how they've implemented and are tracking changes.

Whether you're new to the concept of Regenerative Farming, curious to learn more, or already well on the journey, it'll be a great day that welcomes everyone. As always, a good opportunity to catch up with folks and make new connections, learn from one another, and enjoy some quality kai and kōrero (food & conversation)!

What will this day include?

  • We'll start at Tikorangi Hall with a welcome and some interactive presentations to then be on farm after a light catered lunch.

  • To begin, we'll have a short introduction  of Regenerative Agriculture and local projects with Fiona Young, including monitoring happening on Taranaki farms.

  • Keynote: Tikorangi Dairy Farmers Brooke & Matt Laurence, of Thornehayes Farm, will share about their regen farming journey, as mentioned above.

  • We'll explore the relevance of the Soil Food Web with Phil Gray of Soil Food Web NZ. As well as having a deeper look at pasture nutrition via the DietDecoder for animal health with Cynthia Northcote of 5th Biz Agri.

  • Practical take home skills for assessing soil health will be shared, as well as upcoming events and opportunities.

Where: Tikorangi Hall - 25 Inland Road, Tikorangi 4383
