Description
Join us on November 15 for a Regenerative Futures Tour with Millennium Kids and our longtime friends, Sarah and Geoff Mason from Carrah. Located between New Norcia and Calingiri, the farm adjoins the Rica Erickson Nature Reserve and links it with other conservation areas.
Millennium Kids has a long history with Carrah. We helped plant trees on their property, ran weekend tours, conference workshop days, and shared ideas about their vision for transitioning from a conventional wheat and sheep farm to a more holistic and chemical free operation.
Find out what regenerative farming is, and why Sarah and Geoff think it is an important future direction. Why do they describe themselves as ‘growing soil’, and how does this relate to their role as beef producers? The birds and insects appear to be thriving in the landscape, what other changes have they seen?
Join us for the day to explore Carrah, do a bush walk and have a picnic. Enjoy the wandoo woodland , and meet the cows. You may even see an echidna and hear Carnaby’s Cockatoos. Hear about their long term vision for the farm, and visit some Millennium Kids planting sites from 15 years ago or more.
Bus will depart Matilda Bay, Hackett Drive, Nedlands ( near the Bayside Cafe carpark ) at 9.00am and return by 5.00pm.
Please bring a hat, water bottle and morning tea to share. Lunch will be provided.
DONATIONS: The Johnson Ohana Foundation is matching donations contributed to Millennium Kids up to a total of $2,500. Make a donation and it will be doubled by the Johnson Ohana Foundation today!
