Regenerative Grazing with Alejandro Carrillo & Colin Seis
Event description
Join Alejandro Carrillo and Colin Seis at Cradock for a day of learning about their personal journeys as it relates to regenerative agriculture.
Through presentations, paddock walks, and a shared lunch, you'll hear their experiences and practical lessons from decades of innovative land management.
Alejandro Carrillo, a fourth-generation rancher in Mexico’s Chihuahuan Desert, is known for his innovative approach to Holistic Grazing Management. By adapting techniques from global experts to his drought-prone environment, he now supports three times more cattle per acre than neighbouring ranches, while reducing inputs. Alejandro also collaborates with bird conservation organisations, advises on regenerative practices across the Americas, and serves as a delegate to the United Nations on desertification and land degradation.
Colin Seis, an Australian farmer, developed the Pasture Cropping method, restoring his land by integrating crops, pastures, and livestock after decades of ecological decline. By applying regenerative practices, he increased soil carbon by 203 per cent in just 10 years, dramatically reducing costs and improving land health. Colin's approach has been adopted by thousands of farmers worldwide, leaving a legacy of sustainable farming practices for future generations.
