1. Reimagining Touring

    📅 Wednesday, 9 April

    🕕 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

💡 Think outside the box when planning your regional tours to find approaches to touring that align with your music and budget. Learn how to plan smarter, find new audiences and keep touring sustainable from folks who’ve done it themselves.

Led by triple j’s Home and Hosed host Ash McGregor, you’ll hear from:

    • Fanny Lumsden, an ARIA and Golden Guitar winner who grew up on a sheep farm in western NSW and has taken her show (and family) on country roads around Australia and internationally
    • Mark Crotti, the mind behind Bobby Alu’s Breakfast tour, a national and international cafe tour (and a singer-songwriter with his own East Coast and international touring experience)

They’ll deep dive into how to get started touring regionally and think creatively about how to make touring work for you.

    2. Self-Management for Artists

    📅 Wednesday, 16 April

    🕕 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

💡 Not every artist has (or needs) a manager. So what does it mean when you’re doing it yourself? Join this panel of three regionally-based self-managed artists sharing their journeys releasing music, touring and building communities around their music locally, nationally and internationally:

    • Nidala Barker, a Jabirr-Jabirr/Djugun singer-songwriter and custodianship educator
    • Angus Field, a proud Gumbaynggirr musician and member of ARIA-winning hip-hop group 3%
    • Dallas Woods, a Noongar rapper and member of ARIA-winning First Nations supergroup 3%

This conversation will be facilitated by award-winning Samoan-Australian music journalist Sosefina Fuamoli.

    3. Artist Tools for Breaking Through (3-part mini series)

This mini series is a chance to dive into how you and your music are seen, found and followed. The three sessions on branding, marketing and PR respectively will be led by Melody Forghani, a music and culture expert and the founder of twnty three, an independent artist management and publicity company with offices in Sydney, New York, and London.

Melody has a deep commitment to discovering, supporting, and amplifying artists from the ground up. Through twnty three, Melody works with artists like Stella Bridie, GAUCI, Shady Nasty, These New South Whales, RAYE, Caroline Polachek, Little Simz, Dust and many more. Since beginning her career at Sydney’s FBi Radio, Melody has worked as a curator, programmer, publicist, and manager to create opportunities for artists to share their stories on a larger stage.

For each session, Melody will be joined by a featured expert speaker to deep dive into each topic. Don’t miss this series if you want to better understand how to share who you are with audiences, industry and media.

    Part A: Boost Your Brand

    📅 Wednesday, 30 April

    🕕 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

💡 What does developing an artist brand mean? How do you work out what your brand is? And then what do you do with it?

In this session facilitated by Melody Forghani (twnty three), Lucy Perrett, Head of Creative and Brand Partnerships at Positive Feedback, will share intel on memorable and authentic music branding that you can use to create or refine how you and your music are seen. This will include how to shape your identity across different platforms and how emerging artists can think about brand partnerships.

Part B: Tour Marketing Glow Up

    📅 Wednesday, 7 May

    🕕 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

💡 When you think about tour marketing, it’s about getting people through the door to your shows, and - just as importantly - how to get those new audiences to come on your music journey with you long after the gig is over.

In this session facilitated by Melody Forghani, co-founder and label director of Third Eye Stimuli Records Josh White will share approaches for emerging and mid-career artists to approach touring as a tool to promote your music, developing a budget-friendly tour marketing plan, and tactics to help build long term relationships with your newfound audiences.

    Part C: Amp Your PR

    📅 Wednesday, 14 May

    🕕 Time: 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm

💡 How do you think about developing your profile and reputation with media, venues, other artists and people in the industry? How do you get them interested in what you’re up to and what’s happening next? It doesn’t happen by accident!

In this session facilitated by Melody Forghani, Director of Against The Grain PR, Leigh McGrane, will share practical tips and ideas for crafting your image as an artist, building key relationships and how you can use this to promote yourself, your music and your shows.
