Event description

Have you ever wondered how to best care for your collection? How to handle and display them? What materials to choose for packing and how to pack?

Join us for a one-day workshop where you can not only learn more on disaster preparedness for your beloved collections but also how to care, handle, and store them.

It’s a great opportunity to talk directly to paper, painting, and object conservators from the State Library of SA and Artlab Australia.

The workshop will explore basic preventive conservation knowledge on some common factors that cause damages and decay to cultural materials as well as how to prepare them for disaster.

After the lecture, participants will learn how to make book cradle for exhibition and enclosures for housing their collections using conservation-grade materials.

This workshop is suitable for curators, archivists, art volunteers and students.
