    Event description

Open new doors of opportunity for your rural community

Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship (ACRE) is hosting a series of online conversations to shine a spotlight on community-led initiatives that are creating employment opportunities, addressing environmental challenges, ensuring ongoing supply of vital services, reviving and sharing cultural practice and generating new revenue for rural communities.

Meet rural people who are driving change within and for their community - with incredible results. Hear the back story behind community-led initiatives - the high points, stumbles and break-through moments along the way. Come away with new insights about community-led rejuvenation and build your understanding about enterprise models that can be used to start, grow and sustain a community-led initiative.

REJUVENATE conversation #4: What can social enterprise offer rural communities?

Find out by joining our next REJUVENATE conversation with Wendy Bezzina, a social procurement specialist with deep rural roots.

Wendy will explain how a great partnership and the power of social enterprise helped to fully realise the potential of a local caravan park located in Traralgon VIC. The result? A refreshed facility, new tourism offerings, additional housing and new training and employment opportunities for people with disability.

A former CEO of Latrobe Valley Enterprises in Gippsland Victoria, Wendy led a team that provided meaningful employment for people with disabilities, spanning grounds & facilities maintenance, recycling & secure document destruction, business support services, hotel services, and signmaking. Wendy now helps tier one companies to see the world differently and create greater impact by spending money where they get the goods they want and also great social outcomes and supports Social Enterprises to connect and win work with businesses.

The REJUVENATE conversation series is free to join thanks to funding support from Emergency Recovery Victoria
