About the Webinar: This webinar aims to support mainstream educators to better understand students with autism and ADHD and provide specific considerations when teaching RSE. Disability specific educators will also benefit from information about how to consider different approaches to teaching RSE. The training will provide practical tweaks aiming to build inclusive approaches to RSE that benefit all students as well as build empathy and understanding for diversity in the classroom, school, and world more broadly. Resources and question time will be provided, with additional free consultation meetings offered post training.

This session involves 10-15 minutes of Q&A time. If you have a question that you would like to ask anonymously, please send it to rseproject@curtin.edu.au.

About the Presenters: This session will be presented by Kim Andreassen from Act, Belong, Commit, and Jordina Quain from the RSE Project.

Kim and Jordina are both disability and sexuality professionals with extensive experience working to support people with disability, their families, carers, and support workers. They have both worked on and created multiple accessible and easy read resources for people with intellectual ability. Jordina has worked in school policy and in classrooms, and Kim has experience mapping lessons and activities to the national and state curriculum and teaching educators how to be more accessible when teaching sexuality education.

About The RSE Project: Based at Curtin University, The RSE Project provides a range of professional development opportunities to Western Australian schools (K-12) in the area of relationships and sexuality education (RSE). Our training aligns with the Western Australian curriculum and is suitable for all school sectors. Our focus is on supporting teachers (both pre-service and in-service) to deliver RSE in schools. As we strongly advocate that schools embrace a whole-school approach to RSE, we are keen to also support school administrators, support staff, community health nurses and others who work in schools.
