Under the Rug is back! Bigger, bolder, and better equipped than ever to support Scotland's creative community.

Join us on Saturday, 19th September at 7:00 PM for an evening celebrating this new era with the official company (re)launch of Under The Rug and the unveiling of the Rug, our brand-new community and arts magazine.

Hosted by the brilliant Mahri Reilly, the night features a stellar showcase of local talent, including performances from award-winning vocalist Marianne McGregor (Scottish Jazz Awards Best Vocalist 2021 & 2023) who will be accompanied by superb jazz guitarist Sam Parkinson, and Shego Sinner (The Mug of Glasgow), followed by a live DJ set to carry the celebrations late into the night.

    Mahri Reilly

    Mahri Reilly is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural leader whose practice is rooted in socially engaged arts, creative wellbeing, and community collaboration. She has held senior leadership roles across the arts: Artistic Director at Toonspeak Young Peoples Theatre, Associate Producer at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Creative Director at Scottish Youth Theatre, Head of Learning and Participation at Ovalhouse Theatre London, and Learn Project Manager at the National Theatre of Scotland. She serves as a Trustee for Loop Theatre, a disability-inclusive theatre company, and has worked across festivals and events throughout the UK with Surge Scotland.

    Marianne McGregor

    Marianne McGregor is a powerful voice in UK Jazz, awarded ‘Best Vocalist’ in the Scottish Jazz Awards 2021 & 2023, Marianne has been delighting sell-out audiences with her impressive vocals and scat-singing. Using her voice like an instrument, Marianne sings with tone and sincerity that can both break your heart and mend it in one performance.

    Shego Sinner

    With over six years of tearing up the Scottish cabaret and comedy scene, Shego Sinner is Glasgow’s undisputed queen of quick wit, lethal insults, and unmatched hosting energy. Known for a sharp tongue and a heart of gold (well, mostly sharp tongue), Shego knows exactly how to read a room, roast an audience, and keep the party moving at breakneck speed. Shego is the resident powerhouse behind Gag Wednesday and Club Couture, delivering week-in, week-out hilarity, high-camp drama, and sharp-witted hosting. Her iconic status reached new heights when she warmed up a massive crowd of 60,000 opening for pop phenomenon Chappell Roan, proving no stage is too big for her signature brand of fierce comedy.
