BIO:
Professor Lyn McCredden holds a Personal Chair at Deakin University, where she serves as the Head of Academic Group for Writing and Literature. She is an accomplished literary scholar, critic, editor, reviewer, poet, and educator. Her extensive academic leadership includes roles on the Faculty Board, as well as previous appointments as Acting Head of School, Associate Head of School (Research), and Literary Studies Convenor.
Professor McCredden conducts her teaching and research within the School of Communication and Creative Arts, under the Faculty of Arts and Education at Deakin University. Her primary research agenda explores Australian literature and culture, with a distinct focus on Indigenous writing, poetry, Australia's multiple identities, and the intersection of literature and the sacred. Throughout her career, she has authored and edited eight critical volumes and maintains active professional engagement as a member of the Australian Universities Heads of English (AUHE) group. Prior to her tenure at Deakin, she held teaching positions at the University of Melbourne and La Trobe University.
