Religious Trauma 101
Event description
This continuing education course for mental health providers offers an introduction to religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and adverse religious experiences. This course is appropriate for those who may have little (or no) education / experience around religious trauma, including therapists-in-training.
Upon completion, participants will be able to:
- Define the terms religious trauma, spiritual abuse, and adverse religious experience
- Describe some of the ways that religious trauma may show up in the therapy setting
- Identify resources for further learning or for connecting clients with additional supports
