Remake Thrifted Finds
Event description
Ever wanted to start upcycling your clothing or transform your thrifted finds to suit your style, then this is the workshop for you! In an extended 4 hour session, bring your upcycling, repair or sewing projects to life with expert guidance. We will help guide you through your own personal project, teaching you circular design practices and the sewing techniques you need to confidently remake your garments.
The Remake Sessions are all about getting hands-on, building confidence, and rediscovering the joy of making. Hosted at Honey Bones Gallery in Brunswick, these workshops are a space to slow down, experiment, and reconnect with your creativity through sewing, upcycling, and repair.
These workshops go beyond just practical skills; they’re about exploring your personal style, making sustainable choices, and feeling empowered to express your creative voice. With Little Homey Café next door fuelling your creativity throughout the day, the Remake Sessions are a space to dive in, get creative, and make something uniquely yours.
In this 4-hour session, you’ll learn:
- A key sewing technique to refine your skills
- Practical methods for upcycling and repair
- How to approach garment transformation with confidence
You are encouraged to bring along old or thrifted garments that you'd like remake. All sewing machines and overlockers are provided. Additionally, we will provide extra garments, fabrics, and fastenings for you to use in your projects. If you've been to one of our other sessions, bring along your creative folio to plan your design, add in notes, ideas, and document your creative journey.
We recommend having basic sewing machine knowledge or attending either our Back to Basics or Beyond Basics workshops before joining this session. If you are unsure, send us a message more than happy to chat!
