Rennie Pearson – Tasmania Tour 2027
With Tim Gleeson (guitar, bouzouki, bodhrán)
Rennie Pearson creates fiery, uplifting and transportive Celtic music, deeply rooted in the traditions of Ireland, Scotland and Maritime Canada, blending centuries-old melodies with original compositions.
A multi-instrumentalist, composer and storyteller, Rennie performs on wooden flute, guitar, Irish whistles, bodhrán, fiddle and voice.
His shows are a dynamic tapestry of soaring flute melodies, captivating songs, foot-stomping jigs and reels, original compositions, storytelling and history. Moving from peaks of untethered wildness to moments of deep stillness, the music invites you to be transported far, far away.
“I felt my DNA dance.” — Heartwood Tales
“Jaw dropping virtuoso.” — Wisdom Keepers
Rennie has established himself as a standout performer in the traditional music scenes of Australia, New Zealand and Ireland. Performing and teaching internationally, his music has taken him from intimate folk venues to major festival and theatre stages.
Joining Rennie for this tour is Tasmanian musician Tim Gleeson, a seasoned accompanist on guitar, bodhrán, bouzouki and vocals. Growing up surrounded by the rugged landscapes of Tasmania's West Coast and the music of Scotland, Ireland and country folk, Tim has been performing since childhood and has been active in the Australian folk scene since 1998. His playing is rooted in a belief that music is about connection, with every tune and song an opportunity to take the audience on a journey.
