Event description

More Victorians than ever before are renters when they approach and enter retirement.

VCOSS is pleased to host an online Renters’ Rights Rundown event on Tuesday 19 November featuring Shane McGrath, a Senior Tenancy and Retirement Worker at Housing for the Aged Action Group.

Shane will talk about common issues that older people experience in different forms of housing, including rental villages, residential parks, and retirement villages.

Shane will also answer any questions you have around supporting older people who are renting, and what reforms are needed to better support older people under the Residential Tenancies Act.

This session is free and open to all, but designed for community sector workers who provide information, advice and assistance to renters in Victoria.

VCOSS is the peak representative body for Victoria’s social and community sector, and the state’s leading social advocacy organisation.

We work towards creating a Victoria that is fairjust and inclusive. A society where nobody is trapped by poverty, and everybody is supported to live a life of wellbeing.
