Firstly, live on stage SPY v SPY who shot to fame in the 1980’s for tackling political issues through their music, including racism, homelessness & drugs with landmark recordings Meet Us Inside, Harry's Reasons, AO Mod TV Vers., Xenophobia [Why?] and Trash the Planet. Their Platinum Albums gave Aussie's anthems of a generation, cementing themselves as Oz rock’s working class heroes.
A formidable live act - the band opened for Midnight Oil, INXS, Split Enz, Men At Work as well as U2, David Bowie, Simple Minds and The Clash.
After intermission the incredible new doco of maverick entrepreneur Michael Gudinski who revolutionised the Australian music industry with his passion for original Australian music. He launched Mushroom Records, signing little known pub bands such as Skyhooks, Split Enz, Jimmy Barnes, Paul Kelly, Hunters & Collectors, Kylie Minogue, Archie Roach and Yothu Yindi. There’s barely a living Australian whose life hasn’t been touched by the music he was behind. EGO: The Michael Gudinski Story is one wild ride!
