Do you have a favourite dress with a big old tear? Or a beloved jumper that now has a massive hole in it?
At the Repair Cafe, we share repair and mending techniques to help you extend the life span of treasured items of clothing.
Join us for a cup of tea, a chat and mend or modify something from your wardrobe!
As part of RMIT's Sustainability Week come and join us.
All are welcome, whether sewing and crafting is your jam, you're a total newbie looking to learn, or you just want to hang out and share a cup of tea and a chat 🥰
What to expect:
• we'll share clothing and textiles repair techniques that you can try on the night
• discover different repair techniques ranging from inconspicuous to decorative, functional or flamboyant
• we will consult on your garments needs and share the best repair technique for your situation
• you can bring multiple garments to repair if you like - our capacity to consult will vary depending on attendance on the night
• Share a yarn about your favourite item of clothing - what memories does it hold? What does it mean to you?
