This program equips participants with the knowledge and confidence to undertake fair, timely and child-centred investigations into allegations and concerns in accordance with Queensland's Reportable Conduct Scheme.
Participants will learn how to plan investigations, gather and analyse evidence, conduct interviews, apply procedural fairness, assess findings and prepare investigation reports.

Bryan Cook, Founder & Managing Director | Principal Investigator
Bryan Cook is the Founder and Managing Director of Ashdale, established in 2003. As the Managing Director and Principal Investigator, he brings extensive experience in leading and managing complex workplace investigations and reviews. He also delivers tailored training programs to large corporations, not-for-profit organisations, and government departments and agencies across all levels. Bryan’s investigative work often involves high-level leadership matters, including allegations involving Chief Executive Officers, Board Members, and Directors-General. He is regularly engaged to conduct sensitive investigations, undertake strategic reviews, and support organisations in enhancing their complaints management systems and ethical governance frameworks. Renee Walker, Principal Investigator | Vulnerable Persons Investigation Consultant
Renee Walker is a qualified and experienced investigator with a strong background in law enforcement, regulatory compliance and misconduct investigations across several Queensland Government agencies. She brings particular expertise in vulnerable persons investigations, child protection matters and systemic safeguarding issues. Renee previously served as a Detective in the Queensland Police Service Child Protection and Investigation Unit, where she led investigations into serious offences committed by and against children. Her work included preparing briefs of evidence for court, conducting trauma-informed interviews, and managing operational responses across geographically dispersed crime scenes. She worked closely with government and non-government partners to support victims and manage high-risk cases. Within the Department of Education, Renee was part of a unit established following the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse. In this role, she investigated allegations of sexual misconduct within early childhood settings and assessed compliance with the National Law and Regulations. Renee has also held senior roles within government ethical standards units, leading internal investigations into misconduct, corrupt conduct and ethical breaches. She has prepared executive-level reports, identified systemic issues and provided strategic advice to strengthen integrity and governance frameworks. She is experienced in navigating and fulfilling obligations under reportable conduct schemes across Australia.
