Reptiles Close Up
Event description
REPTILES UP CLOSE
Get up close to reptiles with ecologist & herpetologist Dr Damian Michael. Find out about the essential role reptiles play in our ecosystems & develop an appreciation for this group of animals shrouded by myth and misconceptions. Learn what we can do to help look after these amazing creatures, take a look at some reptile specimens and walk through the Box Gum Grassy Woodland to see what reptiles we can find!
Damian has been working in threatened woodland ecosystems for the past 15 years and is passionate about wildlife conservation and science communication. Damian has a particularly strong interest in the conservation of reptiles in human-modified landscapes. He wrote Reptiles of the New South Wales Murray Catchment, a field guide developed to increase the awareness of reptiles in farming landscapes.
