Now that soft plastics are no longer being recycled in Victoria, you might find that you've amassed quite a bit. Even if you're conscious about refusing plastics bags, soft plastics do sneak in, particularly in food packaging.

This class will show you how to turn some types of soft plastics in durable and functional materials beyond their first life as food packaging and bags. You'll layer up and create your own material to a template to make your own purse or pouch.

A little bit of stitching and a snap button later...voila! Your own pocket purse.

Who will be teaching?

Robyn Bunting (she/her) is a reuse, repurpose and remake enthusiast who was the owner of the studio and business ‘Harold and Maude‘ on level 2 of the Nicholas Building, that focused on recycling, repurposing and remaking.

She has spent 35 years working in theatre, film and television industry making all sorts of things - costumes and props and whatever you can imagine! - using sewing and craft technique of all types.
