CIPW research launch - Towards Indigenous Pay Parity: Understanding and creating Indigenous pay parity in Australian workplaces - online

The Centre for Indigenous People and Work (CIPW) and Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) invite you to attend our coming research launch - Towards Indigenous Pay Parity: Understanding and creating Indigenous pay parity in Australian workplaces.

This landmark Indigenous‑led research quantifies the pay gap for Indigenous people, establishing a crucial data baseline to inform national wage and employment reform. By exploring systemic drivers of pay inequity we aim to spark an informed discussion that will shape pathways toward long‑term, meaningful change.

Emceed by Professor Nareen Young (she/her), Associate Dean (Indigenous Leadership & Engagement) at UTS Business School, Professor of Indigenous Policy at the Jumbunna Institute, and Director of CIPW, this event will feature Joshua Gilbert (he/him), Assistant Director, CIPW, Professor Jane O'Leary (she/her), Research Director, CIPW, and Dr Siddharth Shirodkar (he/him), Chief Economist, Indigenous Business Australia (IBA). Together, they will introduce the research and present the key findings, highlighting the report's 10 key truths and recommendations for policy and practice.

This will be followed by a panel discussion, facilitated by Joshua Gilbert, and will feature:

This event is designed for anyone interested in advancing culturally safe, inclusive, and equitable workplaces for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander employees. Attendees will gain insights into the drivers of Indigenous pay inequity and hear practical perspectives on actions that organisations can take to support greater workplace equity and economic inclusion.
