Reading for your Literature Review - Getting Started and What to Look For
This practice-oriented workshop focuses on important aspects of the initial stages of reading for and writing about your research area. The workshop covers the basics for HDR students who have just started, so the workshop will deal with:

• The characteristics of written research
• Reading strategies for published research
• Reading for a purpose – what to focus on
• In-text citation and stylistic choices
• The principles of coherent reading and writing research etc.

This workshop supports your development in the Research Communication element of the MAPARC research student capability framework and the UTS Research Outcomes Capability framework.

UTS is undertaking a number of social distancing initiatives informed by NSW Health. In view of the advice that internal gatherings should be limited, we are not able to run face-to-face workshops as scheduled. Therefore, most
GRS workshops will be offered remotely as a webinar via Zoom.
