Research Writing Bootcamp: Face to face session (Multiple dates)

This research writing bootcamp is open to all UTS HDR students and faculty.Â
Writing bootcamps provide a conducive environment to work on thesis chapters, research papers or any other form of academic writing.Â
What don't you need to do? You don't need to commit to attending the full day session.Â
What do you need to do? You should review some brief preparatory materials on Canvas that will cover the purpose of the bootcamp, outline the rules, and walk you through a short goal-setting exercise. (The prep won’t take long.)Â
Daily schedule:Â
10:00-11:30am: Writing block 1Â
11:30-11:45am: Morning tea break (provided)Â
11:45am-1:00pm: Writing block 2Â
1:00-1:30pm: Lunch (supply your own)Â
1:30-2:45pm: Writing block 3Â
2:45-3:00pm: Afternoon tea break (provided)Â
3:00-4:00pm: Writing blockÂ
4:00-4:30pm: Review with the group and offer reflections on your day: what you achieved, next goals, problems to address, etcÂ
About your facilitator:Â
Dr Terry Royce is a forensic linguist and discourse analyst focussing on graduate research communication and thesis rhetorical organisation. He is also a Professional Member of the Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd), specialising in research publications and dissertations.Â
