Reshaping Global Health with Dr David Bell

We have a number of concerns about what the WHO is proposing under the 2024 amendments to the International Health Regulation 2005 (2024 IHRs).  The most concerning can be summarised into 5 topics: 

Choice – the right to make choices for you and your family

Censorship  – the right to be able to speak freely and receive information

Surveillance – in the form of tracking and tracing

Control – countries will have to implement the changes into their domestic legislation

Cost – both financial and social

The Joint Standing Committee on Treaties (JSCT) has asked for your feedback on the 2024 IHRs, and submissions close on 23 January 2025. 

Why is it important to lodge your submission? Join us in conversation with Dr David Bell former WHO medical officer, and Debra Yuille of Australia Exits the WHO, as we unpack why we should lodge our feedback, and how best to do it.

For those who don’t know Dr Bell – he is a former medical officer and scientist at the WHO, Programme Head for malaria and febrile diseases at the Foundation for Innovative New Diagnostics (FIND) in Geneva, Switzerland, and Director of Global Health Technologies at Intellectual Ventures Global Good Fund in Bellevue, WA, USA. David has been a fervent supporter of the Aligned Council of Australia since our inception, including his participation in our International Press Conference in Melbourne, May 2024.
